IT’S TIME4CHANGE
For the past 14 years, YWS has hosted our annual Time4Change fundraiser across the City of Toronto, working alongside our community partners to educate Toronto students about youth homelessness through fundraising and art activism. Time4Change is where ART meets ACTIVISM. It’s a collaborative effort that blends the expressive and emotional influence of the arts with the tactical approach of activism, aiming to catalyze social change as we raise funds for the YWS Emergency Residential Program.
This year, YWS is excited to announce a three-week-long gallery hosted at Neilson Park Creative Centre between March 4 – 22, 2025. On the final day of the gallery, Saturday, March 22, we will join together between 2-4 PM for the T4C Showcase featuring live activism performances such as dance, music, and spoken word from artists within our community. Showcase tickets will be $10 per person and include food and drinks.
Our online auction will launch on March 4 and close on March 22 during our live T4C showcase event. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to YWS to help us support the youth we serve.
Time4Change Online Auction
Filled with works of art from activist artists and supporting artists within our community, all proceeds will go towards supporting the wrap-around supports and programming at YWS.

The silent auction will close during the final T4C Showcase at Neilson Park Creative Centre where guests will be able to take home their winning bids upon auction closing.

T4C 2025 Theme
As selected by YWS resident youth, the T4C 2025 theme will be “The Space Between”
Space, one of the seven elements of art, represents the areas around, between, and within a work of art. It can be positive or negative, open or closed, shallow or deep, and can exist in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms. Sometimes, space isn’t physically depicted but rather suggested through the artist’s use of form and composition.
As viewers, our interaction with a work of art also changes how we perceive the space within or around it. Similarly, how we perceive homelessness can shift based on the lens through which we view it.
The Time4Change theme, “The Space Between,” invites us to examine the diverse perspectives on youth homelessness and to confront the realities that often go unseen. We ask you to stand with us as we work to challenge the narrative by exploring the space between the housed and the unhoused.

The History of Time4Change
Time4Change began as Tokens4Change (T4C), a third party fundraising event in 2010. Scott Parish, a student volunteer with YWS and later a YWS Board member, alongside co-founders Salar Javid and Meggie Lyness-Javid, saw a need with the youth we support and decided to join together to spark change. Scott, Salar, and Meggie were struck by how something so small like providing transit fare could have such a positive impact on the lives of homeless youth. With family, friends, and a YWS community partner, Project: Humanity, Scott envisioned an experience to engage youth supporting youth.
By educating youth about the issue of homelessness and providing them with an avenue through art activism to create awareness within the community, T4C evolved into a successful city-wide YWS event aimed at supporting YWS’s work and providing youth with transit fare.
In early 2020, we celebrated T4C’s 10th anniversary. 350 community volunteers, students, and corporate partners raised funds at 20 different canvassing stations across the city of Toronto. Since its launch, T4C has raised over $1,000,000 to support youth at YWS.
