RiseUp Etobicoke is a call to action rooted in community and hope. It reflects what is possible when a neighbourhood comes together to support its youth and recognizes the real and growing need for local solutions to youth homelessness.

We are taking a stand to recognize and support those in our community who may be facing homelessness. It is about local businesses, residents, and community partners stepping forward to ensure youth do not fall through the cracks simply because of where they live. It is about strengthening visibility, building awareness, and creating a shared responsibility for the well-being of young people in our own backyard.

We’re looking for volunteers to support community outreach efforts across Etobicoke and Rexdale as we spread awareness and build momentum for the RiseUp movement.

Emergency shelter space in Etobicoke remains very limited relative to the population in need. Historically, Etobicoke has had very few shelter spaces, creating a critical gap where individuals experiencing homelessness often have to leave their own communities to access safety and support. For young people, this displacement can add another layer of instability at a time when connection and consistency matter most.

Youth Without Shelter is proud to be the only youth-specific shelter space serving this area of the city, providing not just emergency accommodation, but wraparound supports that help young people stabilize, heal, and build pathways forward.
